You can bet he was alone and light. There are extreme STOL kits, conversions, etc. that allow similar performance in revenue generating operations, but it takes better equipment than you see here. And about his tundra tires--pitifully small compared to many.

Of course there is a flight department in a major university in Oklahoma that publishes airport info like "runway is 300 feet long and 9,000 feet wide . . . "

I have a 2 seat side-beside all metal Savannah VG STOL that fits into the light sport category that Wifey and I need about a 100ft roll for take off and landings. It has a fat wing with 29mph stall speed, so I can do some much much smoother terrain stuff like this movie and climb about as well. Sometimes I feel the same pucker value although I am not even remotely as good a pilot or as brave as most of these Super Cub guys are. They are amazing/crazy to watch. We are replacing it with a 4 seater STOL of the same design with a 200 ft roll so we can fly to some of the weekend camp outs just to watch them. Thanks for sharing.

With stall speeds in the 20's you can almost just drop one down and lift off at the same spot with a little head wind. Here's another one with a very short STOL.
