As for the "dumb assholes and proud of it" remark, are you one of those that once they make up their mind everybody else is wrong? How about a little tolerance with the opinions of others, I doubt you are the one and only that is perfect.

This is rich. We're talking about Donald Trump, here, and you are chastising me for my intolerance of opinions? I was specifically calling him out for making fun of a Vietnam POW when he himself is a draft dodger. The dude's an *******, and so are his supporters. If Obama made fun of a POW this place would be ready to lynch him.

As far as your oil theories, they were quite a bit off base when oil was at sustainable prices, and completely moot now that the bottom has fell out.

Tulsa has quite a few large manufacturing facilities that ship a shitton of process equipment to Canada, btw. I work (in Oklahoma) for several energy companies based in Alberta. We will certainly always get the bad end of free trade, not sure why we should give up the good.

You do realize a.) oil is a commodity sold on the global market and b.) there is a pipeline that runs from Hardisty, AB to the Gulf (right through our fair state) and c.) we are currently in the middle of a glut d.) we are importing oil at the lowest levels in the last 3 decades?

At this point, I feel that the regular crowd has betrayed us and I am more than willing to take a chance with a less than perfect outsider who actually claims that he wants to stop what both Parties have been doing to this country for a while now.

I agree that the regular crowd had betrayed us but I would not put Cruz in the regular crowd category. He has done plenty of trying to stop both parties through his fillibusters, speeches and actions. There's a reason he is more hated in Washington than any of the others. Is he perfect? Absolutely not. But he is better than a man who has only been about his personal gain, gave large sums of money to multiple Democrats, and trumpets that he will be able to cut deals with democrats. His claims to want to stop the parties but has no history of doing it.

Frankly the very idea of anyone "cutting deals with democrats" pisses me off.

He paid Republicans and Democrats, that's how the system works.
"Washington is a coin operated legislative machine, you pay your money and you get your legislation."
Patricia Shroeder, former VP candidate.
I'd rather see him buy our guys only, the Republicans, I don't know why, it just feels better.

I get that, but " making deals" implies that negotiations will occur. I'm not of the mind to willingly give the other side anything they want. If we give them much more, we lose the whole concept of our governmental system because we've already "dealed" most of it away.

Right now all the candidates except for Trump have received a lot of money from special interests and lobbies.
It doesn't take a genius to see that this bribery is the death of the Republic. For example, Medicare part B was written by the Big Pharma lobbies and passed by congress. I have the sneaky suspicion that my best interest was not their priority.
Same thing with Obamacare (AMA supported it) that we had to pass first and examine later, (sounds like a stool sample rather than legislation).
In this election we have a unique opportunity to get one person that has not been bought and paid.
Is it wrong to want to support a man who as arrogant as he may be, he claims he wants to work for me, when all the rest are owned by the special interests?
No candidate is perfect, Romney received $1/2 billion dollars from a single donor, Bush is getting big bucks, Hillary is tapping Wall Street, everybody is out to sell us cheap for a shot at the Presidency.
Trump, as imperfect as he is, he is imperfect in ways that are not as critical as being on the take.

LOL to anyone who thinks Trump isn't, can't, or won't be bought.

Has he divested himself from all of his business interests? Completely? Doubt it. He stands to gain plenty as President, and is likely gaining a lot from merely being a high profile candidate.

I've yet to see a single pro trump conversation that revolves around solid policy positions and action plans. It's all pie in the sky "make America great again" and "he can't be bought".

I know that from Reagan on all of them were bought.
Everybody running is a multimillionaire. No common folk that I know of, Cruz is worth millions, has he divested himself from all of his business interests? Does this apply to Trump only?
AFAIK, after a candidate is elected, not before, they distance themselves from their own money.
