I actually said to him that the rifle was not in the school, that they found it in the trunk. I think that just hurt my arguement, made me sound like a conspiracist. I regretted the second the words came out of my mouth. I hate sounding crazy, but this world has gone bonkers.

I too find it strange that when the story first broke it was said the rifle was in the trunk, then it was stated that he used it in the school. We will not know the absolute truth for sometime if ever, especially since there won't be a trial or much of an investigation.

The idiots dont realize, is the weapon he had that would of done the most damage was left in the car. Can you imagine a shotgun loaded with buckshot turned loose in those class rooms? The problem with people on both sides of the argument is that they fail to educate themselves in a little bit before stating an opinion, and believing it like the gospel.

And to the people who think that it will be ok to ban "assault weapons" and hi-cap mags. I usually point out that the 2nd amendment doesnt guarantee you the right to have guns to hunt, it guarantees you the right to have guns to defend yourself. Now which would you rather defend yourself with if it came to that?

The gun found in the trunk was a shotgun (Saiga IIRC). The AR was used in the school on the victims and was found near Lanza's body. Lanza used one of the pistols on himself. This is from a report issued jointly by the Connecticut Intelligence Center and CT State Police. Before anyone asks, I can't post it. It's marked Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) and even though I can't find anything LES in the report itself, it is what it is.

Two sources, both about as liberal as it gets, clearly stated the rifle was found in the vehicle and two handguns were located with the body of the goblin.

The CNN story was still up as of yesterday. I have not rechecked Puffington Post.

No argument with your sources of course. It appears we posted at the same time.

Got into the same debate with the stupid side of my family, one family member said “so I hear you got you a baby killer” (he’s duck hunter as well) same argument "if he did not have a 30rd mag he would not have been able to kill as many”
Me: “you use a shot gun to duck hunt right”
Him: “well yeah what are you going to use your AR for”
Me: “that D-bag was reported to have a shot gun as well, Right?”
Him: “does not matter he would have only had 5 rounds”
Me: “he also had 2 hand guns” “how long does it take you to reload a shotgun when a flock of ducks is flying over”
Him: “this is a stupid argument”
Me: “let me tell you why it’s not stupid… a pump action shotgun sprays bb’s, with just 5 shots he could have done more damage than a full mag of .223… a shotgun shoots out a net of bb’s then he would have had hand guns to back it up”
Him: “but that’s not what he did”
Me: “ban the .223 and the next gun to be used will be a shot gun, then there goes hunting, then you will hear a hand gun was used, there goes your home security” “remember the bolt action sniper that took Washington hostage” “you really are dumb if you think it’s going to stop with a ban of the AR, do all of us gun lovers a favor and stop being dumb”

Even though my father is a gun owner, we had the same discussion over Christmas, it started out calm and engaging till my Obama loving sister got in on it. To say the least, the rest of vacation was like walking around on egg shell's. It's the first time my dad had nothing to say, or even said good by when we left. Some folks just can't get past the emotional side of the discussion. Logic never works!

Now my brother is another story. We decided to do a little before Christmas shopping, when I got into his truck I noticed a medium sized backpack in his back seat, and joked about it being a bugout bag, joke was on me as it was just that. He's always leaned more in my direction when it comes to 2AD an firearms. Now he's right on board. Looks like both of us are back to being the "black sheep" of the family. Yes he's also started a stockpile too!!
