Has anyone on here ever spray wire welded I just got a job at a welding shop and have never as they call it "sprayed" before. So I walk in for the first day today and the first thing they hand me is a spray wire welder...... needless to say I didn't do to good. I am used to MIG and Stick welding have done plenty of both but am not certified at ether. The good news is even with my bad welds with the spray I did pull off several with the MIG that turned out nice. And they didn't fire me yet
Just wondering if anyone can give any pointers? I keep having holes in my weld. I know with stick I need to let it burn in that area longer but then my bead gets way to fat (1/2 in to 5/8 in) and I still get the holes. The only way I have figured out how to stop it is to run about a 3/4 in bead which is "just slightly" overkill for what I am welding, but even with that at the starts and stops I am having problems.
Thanks
