State Fair NO GUNS Signs

(I just posted this on an older "Fair" thread...thought it might be useful here too.)


I decided to find out for myself the CCW policy for the Tulsa State Fair. I searched the TSF website and searched the Expo Square website and found NOTHING!

I called the Expo Square/Tulsa State Fair office and was referred to a marketing person who then referred me to the director of security who either would not or could not answer my question and said to call the sheriffs dept.

Then, I called the Tulsa County Sheriffs Dept. and the official word from the deputy-on-duty was, "CCW is not encouraged at the Fair, but is legal."

There ya go....

A couple of my students went to fair this weekend and told me there was a shooting while they were there. They said they didn't think anyone was hurt but people were sure trying to get out of the way. I asked them "Didn't that person see the no guns sign?"

I noticed the first gun buster sign while walking into the building that had the Baer safe stand in it, which I thought was rather funny.

It was after that when I realized that all the buildings had them.

I think those stickers were added during the Auto Show last spring. I had never seen them before that event and they were brand spankin new for the Auto Show. I assume nobody has taken the time to take them down.

Since none of the buildings were for the express purpose of govt. doing business with the public, I ignored them.
