@MacFromOK - we're praying for both of you, Mac. It is a terrible experience for all involved. Rest assured our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
The problem (well, one of them) is that she has worn her teeth night and day since she got them (15-20 years), and her gums do not meet. The other problem (or at least another one) is that I can't stand long enough to do any mixing/cooking (or dishwashing) to speak of. It's pretty much microwave on disposable plates/bowls or bust.Mac, you and your sweetheart are in my prayers. (Don't start with me, you guys who couldn't be gracious if you had to -- y'all know who you are. )
My heart breaks for you both. I wish there was something I could do. I helped take care of my neighbor, Dan, for a little while while he was in hospice. I cannot imagine how difficult this all is for you. Btw, if you bake her some cookies but only bake them until they are "soft done" it might allow her to still eat her cookies. It worked for Dan. Cook them until they are just barely set.

However, the past couple of days I've been making her a more/less pudding for breakfast, made with vanilla wafers, crackers, and prune juice (she's had irregularity problems for years). And it tastes surprisingly good (enough so that I'd eat it too, if I could stay out of the bathroom).
Anywho... thanks a bunch, kiddo. And I hope/pray you continue to improve.
Lol, TMI indeed...Uhmmm hmmmm this is gonna be WAY too much info but here goes ... I have had "issues" going No. 2 my whole life. I had no idea people even went more than once a week or so until I lived in the dorm at college and wondered what was wrong with everybody else. Lol Just recently I have started taking resteravol with a little yogurt cup, every morning and evening. At first I was going a half dozen times a day, sometimes more. Now my gut has settled down and I'm "active" a couple, sometimes 3 times a week. Not nearly as much as my doctor wants (every day) but definitely an improvement over every couple of weeks (and that is NOT an exaggeration). Maybe if you got her a yogurt she liked the taste of?? Black Cherry is REALLY good btw.
I agree with everything that RickN posted.....I'll be praying for the two of you....hang in there brother@MacFromOK, can she eat oatmeal? Some of the microwave oatmeal flavors are not bad and the fiber might help her. I know I can take my teeth out and eat it. Anyway, prayers for both of you, and yes you need them just as much as she does. Being a caregiver is tough especially when your health is not all that great.
Yes, she does like oatmeal (we both do), and that's definitely an option.@MacFromOK, can she eat oatmeal? Some of the microwave oatmeal flavors are not bad and the fiber might help her.
