What if we make this forum, but it turns out it's just for guys whose legal first names are "Christian"?

Then they could be like sorry, you're not a real Christian...

Yea. Why not just a religious "pit free for all". Atheist and Others welcome with Christians. Surely, we can discuss differences without someone getting too upset.

One would think so, and that's what GD is for. But, apparently, there's a significant number of christians for whom this doesn't work.

For some folks, religion, guns, and patriotism go together.

The Nationalist in Spain's Civil War(Republicans were the left in that war), the Italians, Germans, and Japanese in WWII, the American's on both sides of the Civil War, etc., etc. Change guns to swords and we can get into the Crusades or better yet Charlemagne. Those who attacked British police and soldiers in Palestine or bombed the King David Hotel(wouldn't that be terrorism?) Of course I'm willing to bet nobody wants to discuss war crimes or atrocities conducted during the cold war to fight those Godless Communist. Who did Jesus say to make war on again?

My personal opinion is that a lot of the non-Christians have had really bad experiences with Christianity, churches, ministers, etc. These experiences have really hurt a lot of folks.

Maybe that's some of it, and maybe some Christians, non-Christians, and others of belief see the bad record of history brought by the perversion and manipulation of religion and it's place of unquestionable authority to support Ultra-nationalism and social control for human gain as opposed to any true religious goals and they don't want to see it harm their country or the world again.

I'm definitely interested in the opinions of other religions.

Pacifist Christians or Christian Socialist? Wonder how those types would be accepted on here since they share a religious belief system with mainline Christians but not political/moral ideas?
