Nah, some of them still sell states rights as applicable to gay marriage just like segregation in '64. That is the ones that don't want a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT. Oh, and they use states rights to quell the cognitive dissonance between "obamacare mandates are unconstitutional" and "well, I guess my state government can mandate me to buy insurance because they're not the feds and all. STATES RIGHTS". States rights has been working wonders for the GOP since the 60s.

The next major realigning election will occur sometime in the next few election cycles when a few red states and swing states turn solidly blue due to changing voter demographics. Only then the GOP will do some position/issue shifting to try and remain viable. If Gingrich or Santorum or someone along those lines got the GOP nod and not Romney...that realigning election would be this year without a doubt.

People who still spew this crap in 2012 are waterheads that don't know how to use the internet.

Predictable........

C'mon man - you didn't jump in when people put all Obama supporters or Dems in the same category, but you're going to get upset when retorts against Republicans are made?

It doesn't even matter what the individuals believe anymore, its about the party's beliefs (and if you support the party and the party supports said beliefs...)

Not upset, just letting poop know that his definition of R doesn't fit me (so I guess it's ~ 50 million - 1 now?).

As far as supporting the party, I am registered R in so much that they currently line up best with my values and concerns (not that EITHER party lines up perfectly with anyone here's values anyway). I've considered changing to Independent, but then I'd be excluded from making a choice in primary elections in OK and I'm not willing to give that up.

I still believe the best way to effect change in either party is from within, but when it really comes down to it, I don't have much time or energy to do more right now than continue to vote for the candidates that line up the best with my values and concerns. Right now, for me that revolves primarily around economic freedom and stopping the whole spending into oblivion trend.

Anyway... at the end of the day, I have too much other crap going on to give more that two shats about any of it. :)

There must be a lack of oxygen in here today.

Obama was elected because nobody knew what he actually stood for other than hope and change and they were force fed that for his entire presidency. Now his actions are showing his true intent despite his preachings.
I think most people have inherent conservative values, and not the values the liberal media spews about conservatives.
Conservatism doesn't sway with a party preference. And i beleive most people have a moral compass to know right from wrong.
The dumb masses are those who vote because of emotion based on junk they heard on the nighly news.

The dumb masses are also the ones who tweet (not necessarily all of Obama's supporters or all Dems) and get out and protest with signs (and there are just as many instances of "Tea Party" or "Neo-Cons" tweeting stupid stuff, or being captured on Youtube, etc.).

In the interest of irony, I have to ask if you support Romney for any reason other than the hope and change from Obama that he promises (despite the fact that we know less about him than Obama 4 years ago)?

The problem with your question is the lack of accuracy. Romney has been a public figure most of his adult life. If you know less about him than the 2008 Obama, that is of your own choosing.

I supported Herman Cain, but the mainstream media knew Obama would no doubt lose to him, so they ran him out of town and tried to ruin the man. Romney is the best choice of the two available candidates.
