I think you misunderstand the agenda. It differs depending on what your position is. For most of the pols, politics is a team sport. Out team wins, their team loses, period. There’s no higher agenda for them. For others (and this is more the donor class and those oligarchs who expect to profit from manipulating the masses), it’s about creating a more favorable environment for their goals. For some of them it’s money and power. For others (and this is the Soros category), it’s fundamentally altering the rules governing our country.
Regardless of whether they’re in on the plot or merely a useful tool, they must be resisted at all costs. Understand they can never be defeated though. Nowhere in recorded history is are there any examples where a society didn’t struggle with internal discord and power struggles. It’s human nature. The best we can do is keep them suppressed and never give up!

I personally think "Irish Democracy" might work. In other words, just don't comply. If no-one complies, what can the gun grabbers do? They can't imprison the entire firearms community. Non-compliance is working in New Zealand - not many "assault rifles" have been turned-in. Non-compliance is working in Connecticut - gun owners aren't registering their Guns. Non-compliance is working in Colorado - people have kept their high capacity magazines and the Sheriffs are not enforcing the stupid law. Non-compliance worked in Australia - there are guns buried all over the country.
I'd register to vote for that option.
They're reporting that Universal Background Checks are off the table....so there's that.
