After the application process, $200, fingerprinting and 2x2 photos what does the BATFE require if I plan on running it out of my home? What does the “interview” and “home inspection” entail?
Any info is welcome and thanks in advance!

I can't talk to the FFL.

Just thinking out loud - It it were me, I'd spend some money locating and chatting with competent legal and Tax professionals familiar with the realities of your idea. Also - get with the local zoning authorities and if I were renting, the Landlord, too.

Forewarned is forearmed. Just my :twocents:

I thought about doing the FFL, but I don't like the idea of having to count your own personal guns as "store inventory" for home FFL's. Not 100% on this, but I remember coming across that. Also, I live in midtown OKC near the arts center, which is the most liberal area of OKC. I highly doubt I'll be able get approval for a home FFL. I've been in a search for a cheap warehouse building that I can secure and turn into a "storefront" for an FFL.

You need a tax ID which means you have to set up a business. Your address needs to be zoned for a business. That's as far as I got and decided to think harder about it. Dint buy one of those get your FFL kits either. Google will bring you lots if good info from other forums.

Interview is just about going over all the paperwork. Having an FFL is all about paperwork. If you don't like filling out forms and keeping it for 20 years then forget it.

My interview didn't want to see anything, just came in, handed me a book and we started going down the checklist of everything I needed to know.
