I've had an FFL out of my home in OKC since some where around 82. During this period have moved once, and have never have had a tax ID. The down side of this is, many distributors will not sell to a dealer with out one and, in some cases a storefront. This did not used to be so. In almost 30 yrs I have never had an interview or home inspection. What I have had, was 2 record checks, the first real through, the second not. At some point in Clintons adm. the zoning thing came up,and a lot of people were not able to renew their FFLs. In OKC, the city attorney was asked for a ruling, and he stated that he felt that it was an infringment on 2nd admenment rights. When I renewed my liscense. I enclosed a copy of the letter with my app. and probably still have a copy of it around here some where. When I renewed the last time ,last june, I put on the form for gunsmithing , so as not to list regular hours, and that was the original reason for getting it in the first place, probably should have turned it in, given the current political climate, and the fact I don't much give a hoot anymore. Personally I would love to see all gun owners obtain FFLs.
