Latest pic after removing 10 gallons worth of pulp/soft wood, I'm gonna have Popeye fore arms when finished Hit the top with an 80 flap, so much more work needed.

I have a half pint of epoxy coating for wood that I won't use, You can have it if that is what you are going to do with it.

Thanks Honeybee, I have no clue what to do with it, My wood skills are more along the lines of a framer. Is that what I need? Gonna leave it pretty natural tons of worm tracks.
I have said over and over while chiseling away, that if it was metal, I'd be done and painted by now. lol

depends on what you want it to look like, the epoxy will give it a look of being encased in a thin layer of glass and the color that it looks like when it is wet.

That looks like a nice burly section, it would make some sweet knife handles, if the bugs haven't drilled it to much and it's not to cracked up. Be sure and keep posting I curious as to what the end product will be.
