I thought my son was the only one that did that.

Had mine removed when I was a kid. My wife had hers removed at 21. It was awful for her.

Man, I tell ya ... those things get to itching and I'll do ANYTHING to get them outta there ... I worked with a girl who had hers removed when she was 18. Poor girl ... I thought she was gonna waste away to nothing before she got to where she could eat again. (Not that it wouldn't hurt me to lose a pound or 30 ... but seems like a really harsh way to do it ...)

Its not that bad LOL I had a UVPP and corrected a deviated septum all at the same time. was pretty much in a drug coma for a week it seemed like. now when the packing and scabs come out and lose on that make sure you keep your eyes closed............ NASTY

Mine came off when I was just waking up one morning and I swallowed them before I knew what was happening.
I almost barfed

My tonsils were swollen enough to cause a >70% throat obstruction when I was 30, so I had to have them taken out. I was out for almost 3 months because of infections (two bacterial, then I got thrush from all the antibiotics). I thought I was going to die at points during my recovery. I lived on liquid painkillers most of that time.

Needless to say, I don't recommend it unless it will REALLY improve your quality of life.
