Transmission and/or cooling system flush - how often do you do these?

I have to have the required servicing done or my warranty is voided. I don't like paying the price, but I do not want to pay a larger price. The combo unit of satellite radio, GPS, CD/DVD player costs 4000 for the part alone. And I feel like the service department gives me the best bargain it can when I am in there.

I worked at the Ford transmission rebuild facility out in W OKC. I used to talk with the engineers out there as they also inspected failed factory transmissions, they say the same thing. Dont flush or reverse flush the transmission. Just change the fluid and filter only.

That is all i or my dad have every done, his 1996 GMC yukon has 500,000 on the stock motor and transmission with nothing more than the above advice.
