This is right, You must be a male at least 18 yrs. old not a felon and beleive in a supreme being (not athiest).

Thank you Cohiba, this is some of the best explanation that I have heard from a brother when asked. I joined when I was pretty young (19) mainly because I was curious as to what my stepfather and his friends where doing on a Tuesday night. One of the better decisions I made when I was a kid.

Sounds really similar to my wife's sorority crap.
My grandfather is a Mason. Never asked him about it and he never brought it up. Figured it wasn't my place. I've been interested in joining, but not serious enough to do it. I am a member of the Elks. I've enjoyed it. Wish I had time to be more active in it. Drinking is cheap at the lodge, haha.
