Always kinda wondered what they were about. Never really thought about joining since I don't buy into the Nancy Pelosi-esque "pass the bill so you can know whats in it" secretive thing.

My father-in-law was a member for a while (back in the day they had a huge influence in military promotions) but finally left when things started to conflict with his personal/religious beliefs. Something to the effect of "never outing a brother Mason, even if they commit a crime like murder" etc...

I'm sure they do a lot of good through charity...but there are a lot of charities out there.

Too each their own is my feelling towards 'em.

I can't remeber the cost. When the "due" letter comes in the mail, my wife just pays it.

I think its $30/35 dollars, then if you want to become a lifetime/perpetual member mutiply 15 x your dues.

I am remiss on this part...sorry.

By the way, you conspiricy folks forgot the ladies version of Masonry...Eastern Star.

My wife won't join, she thinks she's the youngest woman there and has nothing in common with the older ladies. I just keep reminding her...she's getting there.

**By the way, you conspiricy guys must not be married. Trust me, my wife KNOWS every step I take.sometimes before I know I'm going to do it.

She knows my underware size, pants and shirt size. She knows my doctor appointments and reminds me if I or we...promised to meet someone for drinks or dinner. Heck, marriage really simplified my life!!
I know what TV show I'm watching on most nights, what radio station I'm going to listen to, I don't even know when the bills come in or when they're due...its taken care of and on time...she calls them if they're late.

She can rattle off my social security number and date of birth before I get the first three numbers out. She lets ME know when my drivers license and truck tag is due. Heck, she can remember most of my relatives birthdays and sends them a card...I usually ask a month later...don't they have a birthday coming up?
She knows when my magazine subscriptions are due and pays them. She knows most calibers I have in rifle and pistol, so when we're in Academy she knows what to buy.

She knows what beer and bourbon to buy and which ones not to buy for me.

With all that and countless other things she know about me, do you or anyone else...think I'm going to keep some super secret society, rule the world, control people information from her??!! Ain't gonna happen!!!

So I have one simple question which should be able to be answered. How much are the annual dues and the initiation fee?

Each lodge is a bit different in dues, according to their annual costs.
It is around $35 to $100 per year. Also lifetime membership is available.

Call the lodge you are interested in, and see what they have to say.
They are in the phone book. The evenings are the best, they are normal folks, so they have to work to make a living.

And if someone commits a felony after they are accepted, they are removed at once. No questions asked.

So how do you convince someone to join up? I can see 17,18 year olds joining a frat or sorority to be cool and have friends but grown men?? Is it just a grown ups treehouse..

We are NOT a religious cult. Would you call the Odd Fellows, Toast Masters or the Elks Club a religious cult?

How about College Fraternities? Boy Scouts?

Fraternity yes, cult no. Also, please don't believe we are the illuminati either...oh boy!!!(I thought I set most of the record straight on the moon landing hoax a few days ago..now this)

If you want to join....ask a Mason how.....pretty simple. As you move up, joining Shrine(Shriner) is considered the party group.

Hey, I'm not saying that y'all were a religious cult. I'm saying thats what I was told when I asked two different people the same question. When you get the same answer, it makes you wonder. As far as the other groups you mentioned, I know nothing about them either. I've never even heard of a "Toast Master" till now.

I never went to College other than to buy books for my kids.........and the Boy Scouts? You have to admit they are much less restrictive about telling folks what they do.
