I am not a member, however I have a couple unlce's that are long time members. I was asked on a couple occasions to join but declined. I dont know much as they are VERY tight liped on what goes on. But when I asked how and what would I do I got this answer. You must be referred by a member and then a couple more have to talk to you and suggest you as well. Then you have a sort of "sponsor" if you will that will guide you and you receive a handbook/guide to memorize. Then for the first year you are not allowed to speak in meetings at all. Also you must stand against the wall and not in chairs for meets till you"rank" up. Thata about all I could get my close family members to tell me. They are super secret indeed. Why do you think when you google them theres very limmited info on them. I may have said to much already. Will be keeping an eye on my back now, lol.

Its not a secret if you tell everyone. Its kinda like a world class chef they don't give away they're best recipe to everyone that asks.

As for taking over the world, come over to a breakfast that some of the lodges put on monthly before they start serving very seldom they can get breakfast together on time, if they can't get a breakfast together how in the world are they going to take anything over. But I will say the food is good

here is some of the lodges that put on breakfasts
http://www.myrtlelodge145.com/ On the 4th Saturday of the month from 7AM to 9AM
and Mustang lodge is another one that has breakfasts I am not sure on their schedule

I can't figure out the purpose for the secrecy either. The best theories I could come up with are: the secrecy makes them more appealing to some, and so attracts interest; it is just an institutionalized thing that they have always done and keep doing, and kind of think it's fun and cool; or there really is something weird and offbeat about them that would prevent lots of people from joining if they knew up front.

It would seem that it is very similar to Scientology, in that you have to join and "level up" before you can get some of the knowledge.

I had an uncle that was a Mason, and they did a ritual at his funeral. I didn't think it was anything too weird like someone said previously. They just went up there in ceremonial aprons, said some words, and laid something on the coffin, IIRC. I am sure it had a lot of meaning to those involved, and I'm sure it's something he would have wanted, as it was a big part of his life apparently.

In Appleseed we give our instructors a ceremony at their funerals when they die too, if their families are cool with it... our old State Coordinator passed a couple years ago, and we sent him off just like he would have wanted, with .30 cal battle rifles booming! ;)

I googled both FEMA and the Freemasons last night. About an hour later I noticed a brown van parked across the street with multiple antenna's and what looked like cameras mounted on the roof. I went out and asked them if they were looking for something. The driver told me he was just out making deliveries for Swans.
Not being a conspiracy kook I find no reason not to take his word for it.
