Call them muscle cars, sports cars, pony cars...whatever...here's mine:

My first choice is a 1969 Mustang Mach I with a 428 Cobra Jet (glossy black with pink pearl accents)

Choice two is a 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Ram Air (candy apple red)

The day the last Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am rolled off the line was a sad day in American history...I can only hope the Firebird returns...

I never had a favorite muscle car from that era. None of them spoke to me. My favorite pony car is the 66' Shelby GT-350, peferrably white on blue like this one, except with Halibrand knockoffs:

My favorite sports car is the 67' 427/435 Vette convertible, preferrably black on red (I love the stinger hood):

My favorite rod would have to be a blown, dropped, tubbed 40' Willy's coupe, like this only with flames:

If I was going to build a car, it would probably be a 66 fastback Stang resto-mod. Something with a high rev stroker and a 6 speed trans, and suspension and brakes to match.

Honestly though, I'll probably never have the time or free cash to build one. I'm pretty happy with my daily driver though. It'll do 0-60 in 5.4 and the 1/4 mile in 13.9 at 102.5 mph and on to a top speed of 149. The V-8 revs to 6500 and it stops from 60-0 in 120 ft. All this and i average 23-24 MPG on every tank. It may not be most people's idea of a muscle car, but it is to me! :D

What year GS is that?

It's tough to beat the IS, GS from Lexus and the G, M cars from Infiniti. The M56 does a 0 - 60 in 5 flat and runs the quarter in 13.3 at over 106.

These times are keeping up with a 550i. Find one a couple of years old (isn't that what you did?) and they make great bargains.
