'86 Nissan ZX. Maroon red, 2-seater, white interior, with a wrap-around all-electronic dashboard (like sitting in an airplane cockpit, which was a state-of-the-art wonder back then). Gigantic engine with 5-speed manual. Talk about a "rocket ship on wheels"! Never hit the tach's red-line, but I once got near it. Found out the hard way that the front end tended to "float" about 168 or 169 so I shut it down, and never made that mistake again.
The "shock factor" came from the insurance company. Monthly premium matched (therefore doubled) the monthly purchase payment. After almost a year of that extravagance, I came to my senses and sold that beast... for more than I had paid for it new... to a college kid who was wide-eyed and breathless after a test drive.
