I drive ga

I drive gas powered because they are about 10 k cheaper to buy and services are cheaper. If a gasser is geared right It will do just about anything a diesel will. I have lived in the mountains and in the flat lands. Pulled some very large trailers with gas and with diesels. Mine resale very well because they are well taken care of.
My friend just bought a 7.3 Ford 7.3 gasser with a 10 SPD and 4.30 gears, gets 9mpg going down the highway unloaded. Paid over 60 grand for it. Absolutely hates it. He saves about $30 on oil changes though vs. what I pay for my oil and filter. My Cummins gets 19mpg.

Must be a ford thing. I once had a 454 5 spd with 410 gears would get 10 pulling a 20 k trailer load. My 5.3 with 10spd and 323 gears get 15 pulling a 10k trailer. Maybe he is trying to run 75 or 80 mph, some thing is wrong.

It has 4 thousand miles on it. Rode from MWC to Enid and back with him and it burned almost 50 gallons. I've had 454s, 460s and never got close to 10. The throttle body ones were terrible, no power and no mileage.
