A member of my family once took/stole a .22 revolver, Savage 4.10 .22 LR over and under, circular saw, coins, Coleman camping equipment, TV, and a multitude of other things to feed his drug habit. I've forgiven him but haven't forgotten. To this day he doesn't call me and I think it's because he is ashamed of his deeds.

Do the air tags take a monthly/yearly subscription, are they affordable?

I know getting your stuff stolen would be more costly, but just wondering.

There's no fees associated. You must have an Iphone or other apple device (ipad, etc). Use the "find my iphone' app. that also tracks 'devices' which the airtag is. They really aren't too expensive. I just picked up a 4-pack for $130 but you can sometimes find them in the $25 each price.

Generally the tag will be identified as to location if an Apple device (anybody's) gets within about 800' of it. Your iphone will then show the airtags last location.

I had my house broken into a long time ago. They took my guns, some tools, stereo, silver, etc. Even one of my coats. Pretty sure it was a guy that was a room mate for awhile. I kicked him out when he would not pay his share of the rent.

that sucks. My idea is to hide an airtag in the most desirable item....most likely to be taken. ie, I have one taped to the INSIDE of the airbreather compartment of my ATV. You could change the air filter and not even see it.

This is correct. I have a plethora of air tags scattered around.
House was broken into once with all guns but one stolen. It was a meth head relative that got 16 years in the big house.
It shows the last known location. If the item with the tag moves by someone with an android device, It won't monitor the new location. It has to be an Iphone in the proximity. I have one in a trailer. Loaned it to a friend. Watched him all over town and even out into the country before bringing it back. He is an Iphone owner.
They are great in luggage when flying and so on. Seen folks with them on their wallets and key chains.
Have 5 more bought on sale on the counter tonight that I'll assign to items tomorrow.

I tucked one in the pistol grip of an AR. I use Gorilla tape, it’s black rather than gray duct tape to attach it.

Wrap it with Saran type plastic wrap first so that a year or more later when the battery need’s replacing it won’t be such a struggle with tape goo.

My Okie wife and I lived in Queens Village in NYC for (6) years; and that time, we the house was burglarized twice, (with us sleeping) a car was stolen, and another was broken into and tools were stolen from the trunk. I commented to one of the police officers after the first home burglary that I intended to get a shotgun because the knife drawer was left open in the kitchen and a butcher knife had been removed and left out of place near the thief’s exit which indicated an intent to cause harm if confronted. He replied,” If you shoot him or are found with the weapon in my home and did not have a license, you will be arrested!”

In your momma’s bedroom.
Pretty sure it was the neighbors grown ass boy. Broke into our old house while we were selling it. We had it lightly staged. They kicked in a back door and stole about half the stuff there. Then they went out and kicked the door in the storage building which was empty except a window AC I had mounted in it which they got.
