Been waiting 7 years to do this with my son. 
Finally let him watch the first two movies a few weeks back... he loved it. He was jumping up and down on the couch yelling, "Destruction!" during The Two Towers siege at Helm's Deep. I was so damn proud. Still one of the greatest movie battle scenes of all time. Probably watch #3 with him this week when I get home from work so we can go see The Hobbit this weekend.
No costumes for us, though. lol
