We almost already have that now. If you have a lot of money and are part of the elite class, you can get things done, have laws changed, get criminal activities waved, or circumvent the system in many ways. If you are like the rest of us peasants, you will just have to wait it out.

I owned a business for 15 years. Paperwork that came in that day before 4PM was processed and went out that day. Stuff after 4PM was out the door before 9AM the next morning. When the workload increased I either paid a little overtime or hired a new person if needed. What do you gain by having 60-90 days of piled up paperwork waiting to get processed? With today's computer records it should not be any more time than getting your drivers license.

Nothing on state or fed level gets done in a hurry. Especially fire arms related, they're waiting for fbi and everyone else to get back.

Yahoo ---- Wife sent hers in Jan 20th - Wagoner County, but nothing in the mail today. Because of previous posts here she called and it was ready to pick up today. Mine was turned in on the 21st which was on a Friday and most likely did not go out until Monday, so I may be a few more days. She had a great Ladies Shooting class at the Tulsa Gun Club Saturday. Saturday morning she could just barely rack her Sig P238 and was considering a revolver, but when she came home she was able to rack and clear my .45. It might not be a big deal to some of you, but it was Truly Amazing to me. She had several small targets with a several firearms she had tried, and they all had a lot of nice groups. It was a great boost for her confidence. It is a nice feeling for me that she is a great deal more competent.

Got mine yesterday, after 68 days. Although I had not received a letter from OSBI, I called the Wagoner County Sheriffs Office yesterday. They had it and I drove in to pick it up. Yeah!!

I just received an email this past Tuesday from the OSBI stating that my application has been completed and that I should receive a letter withing 2 weeks letting me know if I passed or not. I took my app to the sheriff's office here in Shawnee on January 31 2012 and on February 4 the OSBI deducted the $100 out of my account. That happened pretty quickly for me. But I haven't gotten my license yet so it may all be for nothing. I have never been arrested nor do I have any misdemeanors or anything else on my record. I have never been in inpatient treatment for anything so I hope that I will pass. The only thing that is worrying me is that I was prescribed Zoloft for depression about 3 years ago and I stopped taking it about 2 years ago. I didn't list it on my application because I wasn't thinking about that being a mental disorder. I was only thinking about bi polar or something like that. So hopefully I didn't screw myself out of getting a permit. Hopefully they don't check something like that but who knows. I would figure that since my record is so clean they wouldn't have a need to really dig for anything. I hope that I get it though. Let me know if anybody knows if they will check something like that or not. Thanks. This is my first post. Glad to be here.

Did the sheriff's office say why they hadn't called to let you know it was in?

No, they never indicated they would call me, instead, when I submitted my application to them, they told me I could call them to make sure they had my CC after I received my letter from OSBI, because sometimes letters are received before the Sheriffs Office receives the CCs. I then asked them when I could expect the letter and was told in 90 to 120 days. After reading several posts that others had received their CCs sooner than 90 days, in fact within 65-85 days, I started calling the Sheriffs Office at 67 days out from my application date. Each time I called they asked if I had received my letter, but looked to see if they had received my CC. They were not overly surprised that they had my CC on day 68 from my application date and had still not received the letter from OSBI. I still haven't received the letter, and this Tuesday (4/3/12) will be a week since I picked up my CC. Good luck with your timing!

Never mind about some of this post. I just called the sheriff's office yesterday morning here in Pottawatomie county and they said that my license was there. They told me they always get the license before we will get the letter from the OSBI. Figures. But I am so excited and relieved to have finally received it. All in all a very quick time frame as well.

As I understand the SDA... mild depression isn't a disqualifier...it is depression your beng treated for by a doctor... that would affect your ability to deal with every day activies and safely use a firearm. But I wouldn't go around telling people about your past depression or having taken Zoloft.. just to avoid any 'secret' complaints to OSBI in the future. Some people take Zoloft for weight control.. as mild depression makes them over eat... nothing disqualifying about that.
