I really like revolvers, that being said the idea many espouse that you can know how many rounds your going to need to solve a problem is laughable..
Require? Many semi autos don’t have a manual safety.I also believe that modern revolvers are safer than most autos. Plus they don't require a manual safety.
Yep, and NDs happen now with boring regularity today with striker fired weapons at rates that were unheard of during the times prior to striker fired weapons, and where most previous full sized weapons were near impossible for small children to shoot selves and friends.Require? How many times have you or anybody else on this forum needed more than one or two, or even any? The answer is, not very many. Sure, you can prepare for the worst case and carry a rifle and a vest full of ammo, or wear a bubble suit inside and outside the house, but, odds are...I really like revolvers, that being said the idea many espouse that you can know how many rounds your going to need to solve a problem is laughable..
Plenty of revolver related NDs as well.Yep, and NDs happen now with boring regularity today with striker fired weapons at rates that were unheard of during the times prior to striker fired weapons, and where most previous full sized weapons were near impossible for small children to shoot selves and friends.
How many AD/NDs with revolvers happened simply stuffing one in waistband or holster and hanging trigger on an object while doing either, or a crimp in leather holster depressed trigger, or car keys in pocket or purse ever fired a revolver? Nothing is totally *****-proof, not even a NM Ruger SA, but, striker fired weapons have introduced a nationwide epidemic of unintention discharges.Plenty of revolver related NDs as well.
Just ask the Kingman, Kansas Chief of Police when he was holstering his new Glock in 1983. Or rather ask the hole in his butt cheek. How many AD/NDs with revolvers happened simply stuffing one in waisband or holster and hanging trigger on an object while doing either, or a crimp in leather holster depressed trigger, or car keys in pocket or purse ever fired a revolver? There were several such very public chief discharges/CDs as they showed off their newer and safer pistols to press and other officers, one in Florida stood out to me at the time, and no few PD instructors have demonstrated to classes what not to do, MOST times without death or injury. Different story on semi-auto firearms that still maintain a manual safety of some variety. Nowadays, if you want to see an average someone struggle to fire a weapon, hand them a 1911 with an empty chamber but cocked/locked...usually, the first thing you see happen is the magazine gets dumped.Just ask the Kingman, Kansas Chief of Police when he was holstering his new Glock in 1983.
