Why I want Open Carry

In times of emergency, I may not be able to react quickly enough to draw my LCP from its pocket holster. When split seconds count, I don't want to be hampered by unconstitutional laws that jeopardize my family's safety.

Another reason would be to intimidate rioters or looters during a time of civil unrest. Remember how well the LA police were able to protect stores during the LA riots?? (Not at all)

With that much optimism, you should just give me all of your guns right now. You don't need them.

Optimism? Pessimism? I'd say it's realism. If you prepare for the worst, it's less likely to happen to you. Come on now, I know you've seen those videos of the Korean store owners in the LA riots.

Anyway, open carry should be every gun owner's right whenever they feel the need.

With Fallin coming in, Open Carry is pretty much a done deal. I still plan to conceal most of the time, but occasionally I'll have to carry some matching 1911s....maybe

I'll not open carry because I don't have enough holsters to match all of my different belts & shoes. Can you imagine wearing a black holster with brown shoes?

All kidding aside, The only thing I personally like with open carry is that I won't get charged with brandishing for an unintentional flash or print.

I support Open Carry. I will not be carrying openly, unless it is a unique situation where it is required. Having said that I support it, and hope it passes, prepare for the onslaught of gunbuster signs at places that don't currently have them posted. I believe that most folks are okay with "out of sight, out of mind". However, once they see people routinely carrying open entering their business, I believe that some will knee-jerk and post the sign. I hope I'm wrong.

Ya, pretty much me too. However, there are some parts of town at certain times of the day when I want the quickest access to my weapon as I can get. I have been in a very bad situation like this before, and was carrying open (existing laws be damned). I've always said, I'll take my chances with the legal system, before I orphan my kids. You never know, that split second difference in getting your weapon out (by carrying openly, as opposed to concealed) might just be the difference in the fight.
