We've gotten soft as a society and are more interested in our cell phone and ball games, we don't exercise as we should (me) PC has infiltrated our military, the JCS are yes men who draw pay. We have weakened our academic standards and no longer stress the sciences as we once did etc, etc. We've allowed the Chinese to forge ahead and now they are more or less central regarding sea superiority. There's more but we aren't as strong militarily nor di we have the dedicated people we once had, the politicians are Corrupt and are''t ashamed if we know.

Actually, I am trying to give us something to discuss besides the same old weed and 2A threads. We all agree the 2A must be protected we just disagree on the methods, and the pot threads get old so fast I get bored with them real easy since none of us are going to change our minds.

Most of us are to old to discuss hookers and we all have different taste in porn so what else is there?
Hahah well said well said

Before cell phones everyone had a newspaper in their face and a road map to find a destination, nothing has changed but simplicity.
There are more affordable gyms out there now than ever before and they are full. I been working out since I was 14 and I'm 51. No one ever ran those 5ks before and now there is one every weekend somewhere. Exercise is on the rise.
PC in the military, well I cant dispute that.
We have increased the capacity at Universities and made that curriculum harder than ever and the Feds started passing out unsecured loans with no limit so all those 18 yos can get and education - even if Student loans was the debil.
I spit pop all over when I read that China is a ea superiority...they are no match LMAO
Our military is strong enough to take down any aggressor and the people in the military are dedicated to excellence.
Politicians have always been corrupt. So no change there.

I read the entire article, but dismissed the premise within the first two paragraphs. Simply put, why would America want to fight China or Russia on their turf? If we flipped the script, China AND Russia together could never hope to beat America on our own soil.

I honestly believe in the near future that warfare for America should be focused on precision strikes against non-state actors, and a serious upgrade to our defensive and offensive cyber warfare capabilities. As to China specifically, I’ve always said you only need to start worrying about them if they begin a massive buildup in troop transport capacity. Otherwise the biggest threats from them are cyber, espionage (both .gov and corporate) and counterfeiting.

You forgot controlling the whole S Pacific which is what China working towards. They do that and they can cut off many needed trade partners and allies. And the Reason for fighting Russia or China on their home turf is so that we do not have to fight them on ours. If for no other reason is Russia at least has tactical nukes deployed with their troops and the plans to use them in large battles.

While we do need the precision strike capability, again that is fighting the last war, not preparing for the next. We have to have a well rounded military able to fight all types of war and strong enough to hold on until our manufacturing can kick in.
