I've never had one, but supposedly they can really improve accuracy when you get it right. It's designed to tune the barrel to reduce vibration and dampen recoil. The vibration is really the thing that helps accuracy the most.

I would also think that even if you don't tune it, it's not going to be any different than firing a non BOSS rifle so it won't really hurt anything. Just sight in as normal if that is your cup of tea.
