Zimmerman has no need to take the stand because;
A. He already told his side of the story via the police video that was played to the jury.
B. The prosecution would love to get him on the stand because it is their only potential to change the story he already gave on the video.
C. Plenty of the previous evidence and testimony backs up his story without the need for him to risk trashing the job his lawyers have done to this point.
D. The judge does not seem to be very "defense friendly" and actually seems to have leanings towards the prosecution which means she would probably let the prosecution do everything possible to bully and discredit Zimmerman if he was stupid enough to take the stand in his own defense.

Do you think he will be making further use of the concealed carry permit in the future?
The fact of taking a human life has got to be a really difficult thing to live with, justified or not.
Casey Anthony and OJ Simpson are both still vertical and breathing so maybe he will stay that way too.
Hopefully he will change his name and move to a part of the country where he can be a bit safer.
Smart move would be for him to go into Law Enforcement cause at least as a LE he would have some armed backup.

I have surmised, all along, that a struggle for the Keltec developed - yet this possibilty has never been presented. It is the only logical explanation to explain the unlikely presumption that it was Trayvon Martin screaming. Indeed, Trayvon could have been screaming as he looked down upon the bloodied face of a painted devil, and realized with cold horror that the object of his attentions would not relinquish control of the Keltec. That although Zimmerman was no street fighter, he was physically strong, and obdurate in his passion.
