It's a mix for me. I like the action on a Benelli, and they're certainly a joy to shoot, but I see the beauty of the 590 and an 870 pairing... With one maybe running a 28" barrel for birds and one a 20" barrel for predators?

I voted a little of both. For me, I would rather have several guns that function flawlessly than one high price named one. And most modern guns you can buy shoot remarkably well. Your full Wilson custom may out shoot my Springfield Champion but it will be close and I practice a lot.
I would rather everyone in my family owns an AR before I worry about having some high dollar custom that might shoot 1/2 moa better than my cheaper ones.
I would never buy a Tromix Saiga for example when I can get a regular converted one for half price - its a freaking shotgun, if it cycles and fires then we're in business.
On the other hand, there are certain guns that I want the best piece I can afford for my collection such as my Winchesters, Spencers, etc.

You were doing great until you slammed Hi Point Firearms Company. They are proudly manufactured in Ohio. Not many companies offer a lifetime warranty on their products. I own the Hi Point 45 carbine and pistol and have no complaints... they both serve their intended purpose. They both go bang and put big holes where I point them. After several hundred rounds, no FTE or FTF.
By the way I also own Smith & Wesson, Charter Arms and Ruger firearms. Voted a little of both...

I just like guns, what ever catches my eye, if you pull the trigger and a bullet comes out the end that's all you need. A collector has a vast array of firearms.
I try to keep the collection focused on the finer Lorcin models.
I'm a bit of a collector. Expecially in SXS shotguns in fine grades.
Also have some quality shooters for every day use, and competitions. Only have one of what I consider to be a cheap firearm that I inherited.
So I'm going for quality.

I find that lately for me, quality is becoming of more importance than quantity.
