Sorry my friend but it's delusional if you weren't there, and you admit you weren't. It's just incredibly naïve to believe that you know everything that goes on or even a majority, because you worked with some players under a previous coach.

OK, think what you want, you will be wrong, but that is OK. I never said I knew everything, all I said was that I have been in the locker rooms and the training rooms, and that I know some of the players. I know this is BS. I guarantee you there were not un-escorted boosters in the locker rooms or on the planes.

Right, because nothing ever changes in programs under different head coaches, ADs, with respect to different players. Use your brain for just one second and think that IF things were happening......and IF you were there at the same time (you weren't) then the waterboy or whatever would have probably kept out loop for obvious reasons.

SI had better hope they have some hard evidence other than some disgruntled, troubled, former players telling stories of improprieties. The guys highlighted in the "investigation" have very little credibility while in response to this article, many of the most upstanding OSU alumni are coming out disputing the allegations as flat out lies. Add to that accusing deceased players shows the depths to which this witch hunt is willing to go.

If after a full REAL investigation by OSU jointly with the NCAA, these claims turn out to be falsified, SI will be hit with a large libel lawsuit. It's just a shame though because the damage has already been done and will hang in people's mind even if OSU is vindicated of most of these allegations.

Looks to me so far with phase 1 to be a total hack job as buickfreak indicated. Maybe some hard proof will come out in the coming days but so long as they are relying on the stories of disgruntled players that have a chip on their shoulder, OSU will be fine. If we are talking one group of players stories vs another group of players stories, I will lend much more credibility to the FCA/successful players over the drug using thugs that were booted from the program for being problem players.

SI claims that everything they are using is from recorded interviews. That should cover their asses. They are just reporting what they got from the interviews. Will they give copies to the NCAA or OSU? They should.

Tramels article today says that Joe DeForest admitted to something improper, hiring players to work at his house without getting approval from the school.

One of the players in the interviews is Artrell Woods who had his carrier ended by injury. Does that hurt his credibility? No. You can't say that he was kicked out for being a drug using thug. He may have been, but that is not why he left.

If all 60 of the ones SI interviewed are disgruntled, drug using thugs that does indicate a problem at least with screening character while recruiting and hiring as some of those interviewed were staff.

Yet they won't release the tapes.... hearsay is not evidence. And only 1 of the players has come out and stood by his statement, even then he said he never saw anything go down like the article stated. One of the guys they quoted the most in the article came out and said that he never saw anyone take any money, he never got any money, but that he was pissed because OSU didn't give him a degree after he got injured. They kept him on scholarship even though his playing days were over. They didn't toss by the wayside. All he had to do was keep his grades up in order to keep the scholarship, with access to the same tutors and assistance the rest of the entire athletic department gets. He didn't, so he lost his scholarship. He can't even own up to being responsible for his own actions.

They haven't released the tapes yet. It may take a lawsuit to get the tapes.

They for sure won't release any tapes until they get everyone to read the whole series of articles. They are trying to get readers and web hits. Just wait. The whole truth may never come out but I am sure that more truth will be known.

You are definitely right about not releasing the tapes. I will put money on any recorded evidence they have has been edited. investigative reporters do it all the time. and they get busted, then fired. Thayer Evans has cooked so many interviews and written so many stories that are completely bogus. He has been fired from every job he has ever had and he is the one that set all of this up. Dorhman has been writing these hatchet articles for the last few years too. A Pulitzer does not mean that much in reality, it means one time you wrote good story that was important at the time. That story, by the way, had real evidence, hard facts. This story has nothing but hearsay, conjecture and intentional misquoting.

And yes, I am emphatically supporting my school. Why? Because of the all a-holes out there that are blindly accepting everything that is put in front of them. Thayer Evans has an agenda, he has dogged OSU at every turn. He has admitted in the past that he thinks it is OK to accept money from an alumnus to write a hit story on an opposing team. He is a known OU homer. I am in no way saying that OU put him up to it, understand that. I would not believe that even OU would do something like that. Alumni, however are much different.
