Republicans seem to be fascists in modern times...you can open carry an AR in the blue state of Oregon but in OK the Fallin goons would take pleasure in denying you a right like that which they themselves get to enjoy. this texting law is just another example...

Texting and driving is dangerous, I don't care who you are. People suck at driving as it is, last thing they need is another constant distraction.

The use public roads should be regulated by the state. IMHO this is what they are doing. Too bad LEO's can't give texting drivers a kick in the A$$ in addition to a fine.

How do you figure this?

"The provisions of this section shall not apply to a motor vehicle operator who is: Performing duties as an operator of an authorized emergency vehicle..."

Looks like a misdemeanor with a $250 first offence, and $500 subsequent offences. Although I don't understand how they can legally prove that you were reading a text. It's easy to prove if you sent one(of course how do they know you weren't using voice to text as well), but reading one?

And there are studies that show these laws make things worse.(trying harder to hide the action further distracting the driver, etc.) This is just a way for the government to further tax it citizenry through criminal offences.
