Because laws like this never apply to emergency responders. You know, being highly trained and all. I wonder if us peasants could pay to get the same training they do. I'm sure part of the LEO training involves texting and driving.

Not to mention......we already have this law. 47 O.S. § 11-901b

They basically bumped the fine(from $100 minimum to $250 minimum) and gave officers greater discretion in pulling you over.

Many people can barely drive let alone text and drive but this law isn't going to stop anything. Just give the local municipalities a boost in revenue and officers another reason to pull you over. Guilty or not.
