Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner! Tolerance, like the people that spit on a priest yesterday after the gay pride parade, or forcing bakers to make a wedding cake for a gay wedding, or someone to take pictures at a gay wedding. Chapels being forced to hold gay weddings, etc, etc, etc. That is the same type tolerance as the Westboro bunch of assholes show.
Whoa...now we're headed for full retard. Intolerance of people loving one another (consenting adults) led to legal action to ensure equal civil rights in those relationships.

So an atheist cannot be against same sex unions? He/she cannot have an opinion if it disagrees with your vision of intolerance? People cannot be against something without someone calling them names like “bigot”?

To be fair, he said, "might be a bigot." What he's saying, and you know this, is that just saying, "I'm against this" without an explanation leaves it to the reader to wonder about the reason that your against it. Which is fine, no one owes an explanation. If you say, "I'm against affirmative action" and decline to say why, people would reasonably assume your reason it based in racism, even if that is not the case. There are reasons to be against affirmative action that have nothing to do with racism and it would be a simple thing to say. But, you need to say it.

To paraphrase ... It is OK to be a mouth breathing moron that calls names. Just own it. Wear it proudly.

You remind me of a line from Lethal Weapon when Roger asks Riggs, "Have you ever met anybody you didn't kill?" In your cause, it's, "Have you ever met anybody you didn't insult?"

Feel free to provide examples of threads started with your outrage.

I don't have as much time as an ex-member here, who has dedicated many hours of time to outing someone who "embellished" their military history.

Since you made the original statement doubting the libertarian posistion, or lack of interest, perhaps you can show me where I've supported federal intervention. Ever.

And yet, no, he does NOT need to say it ... he is welcome to explain as much or as little as he wants. You guys may "need" to hear him justify his position to your satisfaction but he does not need to do so, unless he is comfortable doing so.

I agree, but it seems a little shallow to mock, denigrate, and insult other members and their positions positions while hiding behind not wanting to share your own reasons for having a different position.... If you are going to get involved in the conversation and make attempts and keeping it going then don't just smear the other side back up your own. Although that would infer that we are able to have rational, thoughtful debate which is rather impossible on some subjects on here.....sadly.

Don't know what the first sentence has to do with anything or anybody mentioned here. Otherwise, I stand by my experience with this board. In all of the libertarian/conservative speak that goes on this board, nobody says a word about the government being involved in marriage until the subject of gay marriage comes up. In fact.... I'd wager a majority that are married..... have a license from the state.

:rollingla Of all the things anyone here could EVER accuse that fella of being, "indignant" is NO WHERE on that list ...

Shootin says you "might be a bigot" to which K9 replies, "So an atheist cannot be against same sex unions? He/she cannot have an opinion if it disagrees with your vision of intolerance? People cannot be against something without someone calling them names like “bigot”? To paraphrase ... It is OK to be a mouth breathing moron that calls names."

Indignant: feeling or showing anger or annoyance at what is perceived as unfair treatment.

K9's reply was, literally, a textbook example of indignant.
