Guys/Gals - I pulled a couple of camera cards yesterday and the bucks are chasing the does HARD. I had one camera with easily ten different bucks running the last few days.
The wind was doing some funky things this morning. Had a doe come in but winded me. My son has only seen a doe and fawn.
Decent 9 on camera this morning but on the other side of the property. His neck wasn’t huge but his tarsals are dark. He was eating and not cruisin chicks.
I harvested a doe yesterday in Hughes county, her tarsal gland is dark and smelly. I was waiting patiently and hope to see a stud behind her but nothing come out.
I only rode around on about 2/3 of my place, and there were scapes all along the trail. I didn’t see activity that made me think the bucks are locked down, but I really didn’t see any chasing either. It just looks like the bucks I saw were cruising looking for love.
I’ve been on the road all day and just checked my cameras to find out the turkeys were back for the first time since October 20th.
