Hmmm, do have a Ruger GP100. But maybe next season. I definitely don’t shoot it enough to feel comfortable making a kill shot with it.
I respect a man that knows his limitations. I’m of the opinion that the explosion in needing a tracking dog is because of overconfidence and lack of preparation.

Pretty much spot on. Folks don't spend enough time to become comfortable with their weapon of choice.
Grab it out of the safe thinking it was on 5 or 5 years ago, not getting a steady rest and making a poor shot loses a lot of deer.
It's nothing new, but as you said, it's becoming more prevalent.

I shot a nice buck this afternoon. I didn’t even make it to my spot, 3 does were standing around the shed I was heading towards. I decided to sit and wait them out. Then this guy stepped out at 200 yards. I put my first shot through his shoulders and he took off running with his left leg flopping. I shot him a second time on the run and dropped him. Im going to euro mount this one, and im sure proud to have got him.
