Thats a good deal. Not familiar with Daniel. He may be an attorney we would hire if an incident occurred locally. I know which ones I would want if I am involved in an incident. Will he cover bond if you are taken into custody?

That is a great deal. Especially if he would cover a murder defense. We spent $350k + on our case in NC plus another $37k on a $500k bond. That is why we raised our basic bond coverage to $500k. After I retired from the PD here I did PI work. The average murder case will run a minimum $100k from an established firm.

I am not a salesman. Here is what I suggest anyone do that is considering coverage. Go to each website and compare. Pull them up side by side. Look for limits, reimbursement, bond coverage. Call them and ask about financial stability. Then decide who best meets your need.

Ours coverage in readers digest condensed version:

No limit on Criminal defense paid up front
No limit on Civil defense paid up front
No limit on Administrative defense paid up front
Bond coverage of $500k std with $1m optional
Response team that comes to you in critical incidents, not just an operator
You can choose your attorney provided they have self defense experience. Or we will handle it for you
experience. we are the only company that has defended a member charged with murder. All of our key employees have LE experience and have been in critical incidents

Thanks for all the info everyone. I just signed up with CCW Safe. They were not the cheapest, but definitely not the most expensive. What made the decision for me was the fact that they send a response team to your location AND they are an Oklahoma based company. Now lets just hope I never have to make that call.

As to why I went with insurance: I've seen too many reports here recently of people being charged when it was clearly self defense. I don't have the money to spend on a lawyer if that should ever happen to me. Even if I had to use it once, it will pay for itself (possible 100K+ vs less than 8K *I chose monthly, so $16 x 12 x40 years*). And with the way the world and specifically the US is shaping up, the chances I may have to use a firearm in self defense is rising. Not trying to sell anyone on anything, just giving my reasoning in case anyone else had thought about it.

Welcome aboard. The only prices cheaper than ours have limits on defense coverage and/or bond coverage. Your membership and all of our plans cover 100% of defense costs and $500k bond minimum upgradable to $1m. Veterans start at $149 a year $14 a month. I pay $144 a year for my Netflix subscription!

Well, I finally went and checked out their plans. There's been lots of talk lately about if folks will maintain their carry permit after constitutional carry goes into effect. It appears to me that if you want to have self defense coverage that having your permit will save you quite a bit of money compared to their plan for those without a permit.
