If the manufacture has a good warranty, send it off, fix it, and remember the lesson learned.

Yep, what brand is it? Many of the major brands have started offering lifetime warranties and will usually honor them even on guns they sold prior to offering a lifetime warranty.

My relative stated that in one email the seller stated that it fed,fired, and ejected as it should.

Like someone already said...even if he has such an email, that is not a guarantee or promise that it will again.

Write this one down as a life lesson. This is why I only buy from reputable dealers or long standing members on sites like OSA.

Sks is pretty simple to work on. You can youtube how to take it apart, and if something is wrong, it won't be too hard to spot.

It may need a real good deep cleaning.
