I had something similar happen years ago with a century arms CETME. It had a long magwell and wouldnt feed right. Guy I bought it from didnt say anything about it having problems. Sold it to bills sporting goods at a major loss. Lesson learned.

If you don't mind posting, what classified section (of what website or forum) did you buy it from. Also be sure to warn others about this person - don't let him screw someone else (at least under the same name).

The seller may not have even known it wasn't working properly. I've got guns that I haven't shot in years, and the last time I picked them up they worked just fine. Doesn't mean that I couldn't go in the safe right now, and pull one out only to find the spring or firing pin had gone bust.

I'm gonna side with the seller here; even though I personally "money back guarantee" any gun I sold, and have done so (guy's wife didn't like it, but whatever) - I am a business owner and my word is worth more than a few hundred bucks.

"New" gun was brought up a few times - this is BS, even when you buy a new gun, once it leaves the store it's between YOU and the MANUFACTURER. Period. End of story. And we are talking about 60 year old MilSurp ... if it was demilled - yeah, you got a story; if it's just broke - FIX IT! Don't like fixing it - have a gunsmith fix it. Don't want to deal with it at all - don't buy MilSurp.

P.S. Most likely it's just a corroded gas tube - common issue and fix.

Two words spring to mind "Caveat emptor".

If you want a money-back guarantee buy from a store that offers one. I've never gotten a warranty on a deal out of someone's trunk in a parking lot . . wouldn't expect one.

Sounds like he's learning a lot more than the rifle is worth though.
