Any Pilots?

I've been a CFII, and I haven't had time to fly in two years because I've been too busy working to pay the bills. Flying is an excellent way to spend a lot of money, and a lousy way to make it.

Still, there's an airplane-shaped hole in my heart right now....

I've spent my share of time sitting at airports waiting on passengers and/or students. I was a corporate pilot before I got the insane idea to go to lawschool. Now I fly a government desk all day and look skyward whenever I hear the drone of an aircraft overhead.

My wife has a pilot's license and I won't fly with her for the same reason I won't go jet sking in Mexico with her.

Well, I got the PPL a few years ago but it's just too expensive to fly these days. Nowadays I ride behind a couple of AF pilots and I answer to "hey nav". There are worse ways to make a living but I'd still prefer to be the one driving

Get a few hundred hours and fly jumpers to get a few thousand more. You'll have hours, likely a skydiving addiction, and more experience with crazy COG situations than most. Of course all of your pilot buddies will look down on you, but you'll see plenty of female parts for extra altitude in the process.

Sounds like a lot of fun but it'd be pretty dang expensive to rack up another couple of hundred hours these days. What's a nice archer go for these days? 180-200 wet?
