Nice to see more pilots on board. Even if it it's all fixed wing.

AH-1W pilot. Stopped off in McAlester and Elk City last week. Sorry if anyone was out hunting and we scared them off. ;-)

Thought about joining CAP so I could build hours cheaper, but work schedule doesn't allow it right now.

Pilots that join CAP to build hours or for the myth of cheap flying are usually disappointed and don't stick around long. You'll get more out of it if you join to volunteer your time, talents, and skills to help the community or to develop character & leadership in CAP cadets.

I work days, nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating shift and live almost an hour from the airport. (KTUL) Although I'm not able to participate as much as I'd like, I'm still able to contribute in a meaningful way. PM me if you'd like to know more or would like to attend a meeting.

As for me, I got my PPC 6 years ago, fly out of KRVS, and fly Cessna & Piper piston singles and a V-Tail Bonanza. I don't own a plane (yet) but am looking very seriously at building a Vans RV-9a or RV-12.

Learning to fly was the funnest and most challenging thing I have ever done!
