Also you could place several in a gallon ziplock bag and place said bag in a plastic or GI ammo can and bury in the ground around two or three feet. Know someone (like a twin) that just dug some up buried two years ago as an experiment and they functioned just fine. However the covers for the top are a must if you plan on storing them loaded as the pressure will spread the feed lips and make reliable feeding an issue.

SO I'VE been told. Not that I have done such a thing.
