I already have a stripped lower and am in the market for the rest of the parts...I was recently turned on to FBT and really like the set up of the upper linked above, rail height gas block mainly not to mention the price. But how does the nitride compare to chrome lined or melonite? I don't want to keep a full A2 front site so I not wanting to get an upper I will have to modify right away.

Your going to get several opinions on the "chrome v. nitride" debate. To me its probably six of one half dozen of another. By the way, nitride and Melonite in this instance are the same thing.

More and more manufacturers seem to be swinging the nitride way.

FBT is awesome, Also you may want to look into JB's Lock & Load as well. He has a few YHM rifles...

Yep, I am pretty much indifferent between chrome and nitride myself, when it comes to a fighting rifle. They both accomplish the same thing.

Have Fat Boy Tactical in Bixby build a rifle for you, or get the components from them and build it yourself. You will get a better rifle for the same cost as a factory rifle.
