FYI, after 90 days your Bass Pro reward points go dormant. If you go to the returns/exchange counter they will add some back but not all of them. Bass Pro forgets to tell you this when you sign up, go figure.

They "forget" to tell you? I always thought they just expired! I bought a gun last year and had a ton of points, went to buy something later and asked if I could apply my points, the lady at the register said they weren't showing up. That's why!

Thats interesting. I thought the feds had new laws to prevent this from happening.
Maybe I'm thinking gift cards?
Last time I was in there, the lady told me of a guy that owns a trucking company, and has his employees carry a BP credit card that gives points, and pays for their fuel with it.
She said he walks out of BP with a new gun every month.
I don't shop there often, but mine have never expired that I'm aware of.

I have been told the same story. Sounds like a damn good idea to me!

Thats my goal is to walk out of there someday with a gun. Big mistake was going in there with my wife to buy the crossbow. She saw I had 1/2 of the selling price on my points, and "made the suggestion to use them" to buy it. You know how that goes.

When I signed up they mentioned that the points would expire. I never ran into a problem. I bought my press there and redeemed the points a year later. I think it may be that if you don't have any activity (purchases or point redemption) the points expire. That's just speculation on my part. I didn't ask. (I didn't want my old points to go away...)

I only make about 3 purchases a year at BP and I have a rewards cards with them but it sounds like you guys are talking about a credit card because I sure can't buy fuel with a rewards card. So am I to understand that they have credit card that generates store credit instead of airline miles or Discover's cash back? If so, I may need to check into that.
