I only make about 3 purchases a year at BP and I have a rewards cards with them but it sounds like you guys are talking about a credit card because I sure can't buy fuel with a rewards card. So am I to understand that they have credit card that generates store credit instead of airline miles or Discover's cash back? If so, I may need to check into that.

They do have a club visa that gets you more points. Points with just the rewards card can and do expire. If you call Springfield office or go to customer service they will put points back on your account. I've had them do it several time when points expired. I save them up to help with bigger purchases.

Yes, they also have a credit card that gives reward points.

I have a rewards card as well but its for airline miles. We fly everywhere for free.

We are Discover users right now and usually generate enough cash back to pay for Christmas presents. I'll have to check out this BP Visa. I need to read the fine print to see if the reward points would accumulate to a greater value than our cash back does now. Hmm? A free pistol sounds pretty cool.

They "forget" to tell you? I always thought they just expired! I bought a gun last year and had a ton of points, went to buy something later and asked if I could apply my points, the lady at the register said they weren't showing up. That's why!

Yep, they are just dormant. Make sure you ask.

No, I'm talking about the rewards points, not credit card. Just check in with them if you have points. They go dormant after 90 days. Looks like some of these guys are not having the same problem I did. I bought a $1800 shotgun and went in 6 months later to buy some ammo with my points and was surprised when I was told I had no points. After arguing with the clerk I went to returns and a manger was able to add most of my points back.
