Ha, yeah. I get depressed when I think about it, as I've been at least once a year since I went the first time several years back. With my wife getting pregnant in 2012 and it turning out to be twins born this summer, we've been a little too busy for Vegas. However, July 2014 we'll be back!

Yeah I get depressed when I think about the last time I had a "real" vacation, too. Time off when sitting home or even in-state doesn't really count to me. Going somewhere specific just for the purpose of going somewhere is where it's at. I've gotten a couple of weekends out of town, twice to Dallas, in the last year-plus. Otherwise... I guess it was that miserable, exhausting overcomplicated bankruptcy-inducing 5 days when I took the wife's whole family down to Sea World in August of '12. I will never ever ever ever ever plan a major trip like that again for so many people - nor pay for it!

Come to think of it, I haven't done anything bigger than a weekend in Dallas since that time, and if you exclude that trip (since it was great for everyone but ME), I guess the last real trip I had was a 3-day Valentine's trip to Fort Lauderdale in 2011. And it's damn near 2014????

Jeez, I gotta stop, I'm getting depressed wondering what in the hell I work so damn much for. :(

Yeah, our last vacations were summer 2012 when we took the daughter to Sea World San Antonio then my wife and I took a week long cruise a month later, as we planned on doing away with birth control after that vacation and just waiting for the inevitable.

I'm looking forward to May and July 2014, though. A week in Mexico for a friend's wedding and a few days in Vegas to celebrate two birthdays. As someone who grew up having family summer vacations, not having one in 2013 is a bit more emotionally awkward than it should be, even though the sacrifice was totally worth it.

A few Christmases ago we took the Amtrak down to Dallas and got off at the Hyatt Regency stop where we had a room booked. It was like $99/night and within walking distance to the train stop. We hopped back on the next day and came home. That was actually a really fun 24 hour vacation. Inexpensive, too!

So, I'm not a big gambler and when I travel it's Red Roof Inns and Motel 6 rooms. For 120 a night I would probably stay in my truck and move on. Went to help someone get a piece of property in Oregon ready for sale and we stayed in Vegas for two nights at the Plaza. . . stayed in the "Adult" tower so no kids running around all night. Wasn't bad quiet compared to the rest of Fremont street and much more laid back than the throngs of Mexican's flipping a card and then handing it to you while wearing a shirt about having the best "escorts" in town.

On the way back from Oregon stopped at Terrible's in Reno and agree that whole area is pretty much a dump, snow on the ground for a while and streets were barely cleared. Lot of hole in the wall casino bars and the payouts were nearly zero. The guy I was helping fed three or four hundred into a dollar machine and would hit at most five bucks for every thirty put in.

Ended up in Laughlin at the Harrah's and actually enjoyed it the most. . . don't remember the cost per night I wasn't paying but the beds were super soft pillow tops and the Casino had a no smoking section. Was running a slot machine and did pretty good over an hour. Had three payouts and ended up around 400 or so not to mention I didn't pay for anything the whole trip.

Went back to Vegas with my wife later that year during the end of the final four and stayed at the Plaza again. Was there five nights of which four were planned, had an offer available for an extra night for ten bucks and figured why not and hung around. Fremont street had bands playing every night we were there and hit the Deuce for five bucks to see the strip. Right now the Plaza is running around 25 a night so cheaper than the Motel 6 where I just stayed in Phoenix.

We usually collect these smut cards when we go. Here's a collection from one night (mods, you can't tell, but everything is censored):

I also recorded this a few years ago (That's my brother in the video):

You can see how hungry these guys are to share their escorts.

I've walked down the strip holding my daughter's hand (she was 5 at the time) and not a single one tried to hand me a card. So, they do show respect and professionalism, despite what they're actually out there doing.

I couldn't believe how fast and freely those guys were handing out cards in the video. Just what, exactly are the services being provided by the "girls" mentioned on these cards? Escorts [wink, nudge]?

I can't remember if it was this year or last year..oh well. Anyway, a few of the casinos took them to court claiming loss of business and litter on their property. I think..Flaming, Harrah's and a couple of others.

Anyway..bottome line court ruled in favor of the porn slappers. Court ruled, casinos don't own the sidewalk, how can they prove the slappers are causing litter and not people taking them and dropping them. A few other additions to the ruling.

Bottom line..they're legal, good to go, legitimate and are allowed by law.

Remember..anything ..strip club, room massage, escort..is legal in Vegas..not prostitution. If I remember correctly, it can be advertised in Clark County but not the act. Yes, I have a relative in Vegas who is a retired attorney.

Prostitution is ilegal in Clark County..I think you have to go to Pahrump or another city/county where it's allowed. Forgot what county the Bunny Ranch is in

The guy who I thought was unique..no arms or legs in a motorized wheel chair..on the South end of Harrah's sidewalk. He had a sign around his neck stating..no questions answered before you tip me.

Saw him for a few years..then he disappeared.
