I've stayed at Venetian, Palazzo, Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood, Luxor and Monte Carlo

1) Venetian / Palazzo is my recommendation. The Sands convention center is just downstairs so very convenient. Really nice rooms (all suites) and great location on the strip. Casino is nice and plenty of shopping between Venetian and the connected Palazzo if that tickles your fancy. Good casual dining options. I recommend I Heart Burgers upstairs, great burgers, and Public House downstairs by the hall that leads to Sands. If you want some REALLY good food hit up B&B. I have never had such good food before or since.

2) Planet Hollywood is decent and well located and affordable. Pretty meat and potatoes. Decent casino.

3) Cosmopolitan is a bit nicer in the rooms and you can get upgraded to a room with a view over the neighboring Bellagio water show fairly easily. The casino has one of the worst holds on the strip though.

Unless they've revamped NY/NY it's a crap hole. And a long way away from the Sands.

I was thinking the same about Treasure Island when you mentioned it, it's like a trailer park threw up. Personally, never had a problem with NY/NY but I never spent a lot of time in my room either. I will say that Wynn is NICE and has an awesome brunch buffet.

We stayed at Planet Hollywood back on August. Modestly priced, nice rooms, and pretty close to being the middle of the strip.

Next time we go to Vegas we will probably stay there again.

Avoid Treasure Island it sucked.

You have to go eat at Hash House A Go-Go. Fat boys can't go to Vegas without eating there.

I stayed at the Aria last fall for a conference. If you have the budget to stay there it is certainly the lap of luxury.

FYI there's a monorail stop at the planet Hollywood mall that'll get you to the north end of the strip I think an all day pass was $8

Get off my lawn.
We really liked Ti last year. Vising both you can tell why NY/NY is $90 a night and Ti is $170.

The regular rooms were nice and we stayed in the Petite Suite. Great view and the room was very nice and spacious with two full bathrooms. It was pretty cool. They replaced the carpet in the casino while we were there. Go to bed and get up to different carpet. It was a trip.

We were going to stay at the Mirage this year, but got a smokin deal on the Wynn.

If I'm fawking forced to be in that s$it hole like I am right now I stay at the riviera. Cheap rooms decent casino and walking distance to the strip. Gawd I hate this place reno is so much nicer. If this wouldn't have been a free trip I wouldn't be here. Hope I don't have to come back for a long azz time.
