I've heard both sides to biometric safes that they can work just as fast, if not faster than the regular keypad safe. But I've also heard that they can fail to open for you when you might need it most and that it can take just as long, if not longer to open than standard keypad. Any suggestions?

Bio's are great in concept but human biology can make it hard to open in an emergency. The body is prone to instant perspiration in an emergency. This "moisture can make your fingers unreadable. Though your finger tips dont sweat they will become moist. I wouldn't recommend one. Don't take my word for it do some additional research!

I have a biometric I found on Ebay, have not used it in an emergency but seems to work very well. It works with multiple users and you can set up different fingers.

I have a Biometric with keypad option.

I use the Biometric to show my buddies, the keypad to open it on a daily basis.

It sometimes takes a couple 'reads' to recognize my fingerprint and the keypad is actually faster.

Save the $ and get the keypad.
