I do not do black Friday either. I hate people too. Why people deliberately go out on Black Friday is beyond me ... I am at home drinking coffee and enjoying the peace and quiet today.

I think some people save their pennies all year just for this day....only to finally get to what they want and it's sold out. I'm surprised more people don't just buy the stuff online.

Ok, now I'll admit, I did get up and go out this morning...but I bought the one item that I really wanted to get today online as soon as I woke up.....I wanted to get a decent GPS unit for my parents, so I got that.

I did go to Home Depot and got me a new pre-lit LED Christmas tree.....there were only about 30 or so people outside in line, so my GF broke off for a basket and I headed straight for the trees....found out they were stacked up out in the garden area....got in there and grabbed one...only 10 of them there, so i got the first one, paid and was out of there in less than 10 mins. GF wanted to hit up Target, so we went there and got a few items and stood in line for about 30 mins....all in all, it was not that bad, was home around 6 and crawled back into bed. :thumb:

Normally, my wife will do Black Friday with a friend. Guess she couldn't find anyone crazy enough this year, so I was her driver. We picked up my mom and got to Wal-Mart at about 11:30pm. It was crowded already and they were already letting everyone into the 12:01am goodies. It was tough getting around with a cart and we eventually got into a line that was only about 20 people deep. Originally, we were in a line that wrapped around to the back of the store! Nuts. I won't be doing that again.

My wife then tried to talk me into going to Target for their 4am opening after we took a short nap. We parked, saw the line outside that was about 150yds and said, 'screw it' and went home.

She got me back up at 7:30 and we went back to Target/Best Buy. It was actually much more civilized then. And no waiting in line.

I told the wife that our time is worth some money, but I don't think she gets it.

Got up at 9, showered and headed out. Got to Sams @ 9:45 and got a printer for 60% off, got a Samsung Blu-Ray for 65% off, and an I-Home dock for 60% off. Spent $180, originally would have been $300 for everything.

Went to Starbucks and fueled up on coffee, thought about the mall, went home. Finished black friday @ Amazon and Newegg saving about another $200 and spending only an additional $100. Christmas shopping is done unless I get an awesome deal on a gun.

I call that a successful day.

I took the kids shopping for the wife today in Stillwater and it was dead. There was no waiting to check out at Walmart, which is almost unheard of on normal days! It was kind of eye opening, I am hoping everyone got what they wanted during the early sales and it's not the reality of our economic times.
