Oh no need for name calling.
I thought you said "Christians"
Those who follow the teachings of Christ.
The passages you cite refer to those living under the law of moses.

Was thinking that same thing!

I have known a few muslims over the years. Those were good people. I can't fathom how people could use a silly parody of a movie to justify the outrageous and heinous acts carried out on innocents. Something must be done. Not sure what but something. This crap has gone far enough.

From the department of full disclosure- I was raised a baptist and attended a catholic private school. I do not belong to a church, nor do I care to. I am a christian, but I feel that organized religion is a big part of the world's problems. That said, I don't condemn the people that follow organized religion, to each his own. It is when you start pushing your beliefs on everyone else that we find ourselves in the middle of an unwanted holy war. Many christians want to convert the muslims, the fundamentalist muslims want the christians out of their countries. Why? Who gives a crap who someone 8,000 miles or 8 steps away from you prays to? what business is it of yours? Do you think Jesus was knocking on doors pushing christianity onto everyone he met? No. He simply spoke to those that wanted to listen. Oh, and by the way, your god, is the same god they pray to, but their book was written by different men.
where has anyone here said we want to convert them? we want them to quit attacking and killing our people because we don't believe what they believe. i think we should leave thier countries and let them starve and quit sending aid to people who hate us.but as stated before they want our milk and honey and our heads too

Are you one of those "pick and choose" christians?

No, it's just that these were a code of conduct written to a specific people in a definite time. When Christ came and was crucified he "Blotted out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Clossians 2:14.
A cursory surface study of Christ will reveal he never wanted anyone killed. Maybe I do struggle with parts of the testament, "do not resist the evil doer" and "do not repay evil for evil" and when you are punished unjustly, suffer it patiently" I struggle with.

where were these wonderful muslims rushing to the aid of our embassy in libya...(?)

http://news.ph.msn.com/top-stories/us-envoy-killed-as-libya-mob-storms-embassy

Libya's deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Ibrahim Dabbashi, said up to 10 Libyan security personnel were also killed or wounded in the violence.

I would consider this unconfirmed, of course. But it's being reported.

I'm not a Muslim apologist. I'm just saying we need to distinguish between Islam (the religion) and Muslims (the people of the religion, which come as varied as any other people). I have no more grief with Islam than any other religion. I detest violent extremists regardless of what religious doctrine they claim to follow.

i love how people here seem to demand that someone must rush into a mob attack to try to stop it just to prove they are a 'good muslim'.

I wonder how many people here would have rushed into a mob attack or the la riots just to prove they were 'good christians'.

Inaction doesn't make them bad, it makes them human. Not everyone wants to try to take on thousands alone. Heck, how do we even know the 'good muslims' even knew people were being killed? Thousands of people running around, mass chaos, but we still want them to know everything and prove to us they are different.

A religion has declared war on the U.S. this isn't a holy war, it's a war to kill Americans. If the "innocents" won't rid their religion of the enemy, for our iwn safety we must assume that all Muslims are the enemy.

This kind of thing is a step in the right direction. The populace has to turn against those who would bring violence against another people because of their ideology. That is the only way wars are won. In the past, we did that by declaring war on the populace, bombing everything in Germany into rubble and nuking a couple of major cities in Japan. We can't do that anymore. I don't know how we are going to get it done, but if we want to win the war on terrorism, that is what must happen.
