Ok...this is going to be my last reply to this thread...it has gotten way out of hand....I'm not apologizing for what I said....I honestly didn't intend this thread to be taken as a bashing on an "old Man", i'm sorry, I didn't know his name at the time......it was meant to bash the customer service..i was irritated, and if it came off as me bashing the "old man", that was not the intention....some of you guys were pretty quick to call me names.... you guys really need to chill out....you can call me a ********* or flame on me for simply stating my opinion.....don't hurt my feelings much.....some of you understood what I was saying. One of you said I was a glutton for punishment for going back, maybe....I hate to say, that most of the time, they have what I am looking for, and it's just easier to get it there than order it, pay for shipping and then wait a few days. For the record, I did look around for help....gunsmith counter, as usual, was busy, and most of the guys on the floor were all talking to other customers, so I stood there and waited. Anyways...flame on. :flamed:

I have my own range and can shoot anytime I want - day or night...

Did I read "I have my own range???" I think JM44-40 should be my new best friend!! (I'm jealous, JM - forgive me.)

Back on topic, the "old man" of which was spoken waited on my wife and I a couple months ago when we were in H&H... he was very patient with my wife ( a new shooter) and I thought he was great. Behind the counter is obviously not his strong point. I'm an old guy, too, and quite frankly I wouldn't have the patience for some of the a-holes I have seen and heard at gun stores. God bless him.

When I'm that old, I hope I'm still doing what I love. And I hope I'll still have the presence of mind to throw out the occasional "f*** off" to a young impatient customer. Feel lucky you were helped out and were able to purchase what you were seeking to buy... H&H ain't hurting for business, you're lucky to have given them some money...

If you can't stand it, there's always GunWorld

You are either being sarcastic or you are seriously lacking in social skills. That kind of attitude in a retail environment will get you fired every time.

I would like to personally apologize for the problems you all have received in our store. Even before this big run on firearms we where having these problems and have been trying to fix them as best we can, trying to find knowledgable help is very hard to come by.

Believe it or not we bring this up at every managers meetings and are constantly working to improve the service you expect and deserve when you come to our store, its no secret that no body needs to come to a gun store, so we have to provide what online stores can’t.

We have made huge changes in how are store is run and it has taken some time for our store to change the way it has been run for 30 years (Mom and Pop store to a large business). Please bare with us as we truly are working on how to best handle our guests when they come in our store.

To help with the huge wait lines on the range side we are adding 6 more shooting lanes and even looking into temperature controlling them as well. We are also adding a RSO program for the ranges (I know this has been a concern with some of you and we have been working on it for sometime now, it just never got off the ground until recently).

On the sales side we are trying to find cashiers to man the registers, more salesmen on the floor and we are working on hire a few phone operators to handle the phones which I know has been a problem. As for the old man his name is Ray and even though he is slow he the coolest guy I know and well help anyone who comes in the store, and he is only working here because he does not want to sit at home and do nothing, we have truly have never received a complaint on him before (Not saying guests have not been happy with him) just no one has ever taken the time to send in a complaint on him. Miles (my dad) takes all complaints to heart and deals with them as they come in.

Once again I apologize for these problems and hope we can meet your expectations if and when you visit our store in the future.

I'd say that covers it pretty well.

Last time here for me. This thread tells me a whole lot more about the participants than it does about H&H.

BB, I still want those salesmen on their knees with a tanto--OOPS! Almost forgot the tarp! After all, they are to serve us.

Ain't that the truth. God forbid that people have opinions differing from mine!!!

In truth that is kind of sad...some people read the post and saw someone frustrated by a perceived customer service issue, while others were quick to label that same person all sorts of negative words, and in some cases wage a war of sarcasm against them. I want to know the person who never gets frustrated by a lack of service, or having their time respected.

That's why I think the H&H response was so good. It was one of the best responses that took the frustration into account and gave some relevant information --- so good for you H&H. AirMech74, don't worry, it's happened to me too when I had an opinion, and I hope that next time your experience is a bit better.
